We were worthy winners - Foyle

Manager Martin Foyle was delighted with the response as York City got back to winning ways with a 3-0 triumph against Barrow at Bootham Crescent. Despite a poor showing from the hosts during the first-half, leading scorer Richard Brodie opened their account just before the break before later adding his second of the contest.Substitute Michael Gash then gave the scoreline a more emphatic look with a last-minute third. "It was a good response," Foyle told BBC Radio York. "The weather dictated, I don't think people appreciate how strong that wind was. We had to defend it first-half and I thought we tried to play, but it's still a very, very lively surface."We had to turn them and I think they are vulnerable at the back and with early balls over the top and down the sides and that's what we did for the majority of the second-half," he added."I was pleased with the response and the work ethic. It was a hard game but we came out worthy winners."
