We need supporters to rally round us - Foyle

York City manager Martin Foyle has told his players not to feel too sorry for themselves following their disappointing exit from the FA Trophy at Barrow on Tuesday evening. The Minstermen suffered their first back-to-back defeats of the season with their reversal at Holker Street following on rapidly from a shock first home loss of the season against Eastbourne Borough at the weekend.Martin Foyle's side are now currently without a victory in their last four games, and have failed to score in three of them. Indeed they have only netted six times in their last ten outings and haven't registered more than once in a game since the 4-1 home victory over Hayes & Yeading United in mid-January.Fortunately York continue to be much more consistent at the other end of the pitch, where the two goals conceded in Cumbria was only second time in twenty-one matches where their defence has been breached more than once in a game - the other being at Premiership side Stoke City in the FA Cup.“I have told the players not to throw away all their hard work this season," Foyle told The Press. "I’m disappointed to go out of the FA Trophy as we will never have a better chance of getting to Wembley and I desperately wanted to go there again.“But that’s gone and we have now got to realise we are third in the league and look to cement our place in the play-offs to see where they take us. This has been our biggest blip, but that happens to every club and we need our supporters to rally round us.“It’s easy for your heads to go down and be negative, but I don’t want anybody feeling sorry for themselves. We have two tricky games now against Forest Green and Salisbury, but we have a chance to get up and running again. It’s now all about how we regroup and concentrate on the games ahead rather than looking back at the last four matches.”
