Southport v York City

Free-scoring York City seek to continue their recent impressive form when visiting ninth-placed Southport on Tuesday evening.

The Minstermen are likely to keep the same side which crushed Braintree Town 6-2 at the weekend -  a victory that lifted them into fourth place in the table.Defender Lanre Oyebanjo and midfielder David McDermott are both back in training following recent injury problems but not yet ready for recalls.Former Stockport County winger Danny Pilkington is their only real casualty after hurting his knee in training.Meanwhile, in-form striker Jason Walker will be hoping to score for the sixth successive game after claiming his eleventh goal of the season at the weekend.“It’s nice people are getting excited and enjoying watching the way we are playing and the goals we’re scoring," manager Gary Mills told The Press.“For me, it’s more about staying positive and, if everybody can keep believing and keep that drive to succeed, we can carry on reproducing this form.” He continued: “They’re a direct team with a long-throw specialist [Andy Owens] as good as Rory Delap so we’ll have to deal with that.“They’re doing well and have got players who can cause problems so we will have to be at our best and play at the tempo we are capable of.” Southport have won their last three games without conceding a goal but are without Kevin Lee (suspended) and Earl Davis (knee). However, midfielder Alan Moogan should return and Chris Lever was also expected to be available after recovering from a hamstring injury.
