York City winger Simon Russell has signed a two-year deal with Cambridge United after failing to make any impression at Bootham Crescent this season. The 25-year-old was initially loaned out to Tamworth before moving to Cambridge at the beginning of February, and has since made fifteen appearances for them. "I came here on loan last season to try and earn a contract and I felt it went well and really enjoyed my football," Russell told Cambridge's official website. "Myself and Martin [Ling} have agreed something and I'm really happy to be joining. "The fans have been great and hopefully I can be a part of a really successful side next season." The U's have also snapped up rebel Histon pair Danny Naisbitt and Danny Wright, while James Jennings has arrived from Kettering Town.Meanwhile, Josh Coulson, Simon Brown and Kevin Roberts have all penned new deals at the Abbey Stadium.
