Striker Richard Brodie headed his 19th goal of the season as York closed the gap on second-placed Stevenage Borough to just four points.A lively first half saw both sides create plenty of chances but Diamonds came closest to breaking the deadlock.

Striker Aaron O'Connor hit the York post after rounding keeper Michael Ingham and seconds later Jamie Stuart's header was scrambled off the line.

But Brodie's near-post strike from a corner sealed York's ninth win from 10.
