Purcell leaves York

Striker George Purcell has left York City in favour of a two-year deal with Dover Athletic. Purcell, 23, managed only a solitary substitute appearance for the Minstermen after arriving from Braintree Town last summer. He suffered an early ankle injury at Bootham Crescent and was sidelined for nearly six months before subsequent loan spells at Dartford and Eastboune Borough.He previously spent time with Ebbsfleet United and still had twelve months remaining on his current deal at York.However, York manager Gary Mills had already stated his willingess to let him leave the club subject to the right bid.Dover recently lost their top scorer Adam Birchell to Gillingham after netting 45 times last season.
