Blackburn Rovers winger Andy Haworth is joining York City on trial with a view to a long-term loan deal at Bootham Crescent. The 21-year-old had previous loan spells at Rochdale and Gateshead last season, while also making the senior side on a couple of earlier occasions at Ewood Park. York boss Martin Foyle (right) has arranged a special deal with Rovers' assistant-manager Neil McDonald allowing Haworth to come to York for three pre-season friendlies. "Andy's going to do all the pre-season with us with a view to a loan period," Foyle told BBC Radio York."He had a good loan period with Rochdale towards the end of the season. He shows his excitement and a little bit of pace, and he's a good size."Andy will be more than capable at this level but it's down to him," he added. "I spoke last week to Neil McDonald, the Blackburn assistant manager. "I can take Andy, it's all confirmed and it's exciting for us. "Let's hope he settles in here and becomes a big part."
