Strikers Michael Gash and George Purcell both hit the goal-trail after recent signing Jonathan Smith scored his first goal for the club as York City eased to a 3-0 victory at North Ferriby United. Former Forest Green Rovers midfielder Smith (below) netted their first after home keeper Steve Wilson parried Gash's firm 20-yard drive just before the half-hour. Gash had already tested Wilson with a low effort and Alex Lawless narrowly cleared the target, while Chris White forced a full-length save from Michael Ingham at the opposite end.York then lost striker Richard Brodie to a facial injury before David McGurk headed over for them following the break and Gash shot wide after being set-up by Michael Rankine.Goalkeeper Ingham in turn  almost fumbled a Russell Fry shot into the path of Chris Bolder before substitute Peter Till created two goals for the visitors in the final ten minutes.First he crossed for Gash to head past Wilson and after Rankine and Purcell (twice) had gone close to a third, Till sent former Ebbsfleet striker Purcell away for his first goal for the club in the last minute.York City: Ingham, Courtney (Till 59), Parslow, Young (McGurk 45), Meredith, Lawless, Mackin (McDermott 72), Smith (Barrett 67), Carruthers, Brodie (Rankine 35), Gash (Purcell 72)subs (unused): KnightGoals: Smith (27), Gash (70), Purcell (90)Ref: M.
