Ambitious York City have snapped up Histon's Republic of Ireland Under-21 international right-back Lanre Oyebanjo. The 22-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Minstermen after completing more than a hundred senior appearances for the Cambridgeshire part-timers. He actually made his full senior debut for them in a 1-1 draw at York three years ago.Highly-rated Oyebanjo therefore follows former Blackburn Rovers midfielder Michael Potts and ex-Nottingham Forest and Glenn Hoddle Academy winger Adriano Moké into Bootham Crescent this week.Manager Gary Mills had already previously recruited strikers Ashley Chambers, Liam Henderson and Jason Walker, winger Matty Blair and veteran goalkeeper Paul Musselwhite since the end of last season. He has also recently released Liam Darville, Chris Carruthers, Levi Mackin, Neil Barrett and Leon Constantine. The Minstermen are looking to improve on last season's eighth-placed finish and mark a return to the Football League after an eight-year absence.
