Jamal Fyfield struck a late winner as York City completed a 2-1 victory over League One side Hartlepool United in their latest pre-season friendly at Bootham Crescent. It appeared the honours were about to be shared when substitute Adam Boyd equalised for the visitors with seven minutes remaining to cancel out Ashley Chambers' excellent free-kick midway through the second-half.But Fyfield got onto the end of a Patrick McLaughlin corner in the closing moments and volleyed past Scott Flinders to earn a fourth pre-season win for the home side.York keeper Michael Ingham earlier had to backtrack and turn Colin Larkin's cross over his own crossbar before Colin Nish headed an excellent chance wide following another Larkin delivery.Home midfielder McLaughlin had an effort deflected behind in reply before later shooting straight at Flinders, while Chambers also dragged an opportunity wide.Defensive uncertainly then gave Antony Sweeney a chance to break for the visitors before he was denied by a recovery tackle from Fyfield, who later almost headed a James Brown cross into his own net.In between times York went ahead after veteran former Newcastle United midfielder Norbert Solano brought down Jason Walker and Chambers stepped up to curl an exquisite free-kick inside the far post. However, the visitors were back in it with only seven minutes to play after Solano's long throw was volleyed in at the near post by Boyd.York keeper Ingham then thwarted both Brown and Sweeney during the  closing stages before substitute Fyfield secured victory for the hosts with a late volley.York City: Ingham, Oyebanjo, Parslow (Fyfield 55), Smith, Meredith, Kerr, McLaughlin, Boucaud (Moké 59), Blair (Reed 51), Chambers, Walkersubs (unused): Musselwhite, Potts, Henderson Goals: Chambers, Fyfield Hartlepool United: Flinders, Austin, Collins (Baldwin 84), Hartley, Humphreys (Horwood 46), Poole (Monkhouse 46), Sweeney, Murray (Liddle 46), Luscombe (Brown 46), Nish (Boyd 65), Larkin (Solano 46)subs (unused): Haslam, RaffertyGoals: BoydAtt: 1,241 (289 Hartlepool)
