York City manager Gary Mills is anxiously awaiting the outcomes on bids for three prospective new signings. The Minstermen have this week added vastly experienced goalkeeper Paul Musselwhite to recent recruits Liam Henderson [Watford], Ashley Chambers [Leicester City] and Matty Blair [Kidderminster Harriers].But now Mills is waiting to hear from three more possible and what he describes as "significant" new signings. “I have made three offers to three players, who I feel will be significant signings," Mills told The Press. “Whether I get them I don’t know. I know that every time the phone rings you are hoping it’s going to be an answer of ‘yes’. "I know if I get these three players they will be big signings for us,” he added. While no specific names were being released, Mills has already confirmed his interest in striker Jason Walker from Luton Town, while former York full-back Ben Purkiss is another name regularly mentioned after being made available at Oxford United.Earlier this week Mills also stated he would be stepping up a recent approach to relegated Rushden & Diamonds for another as yet unidenitified individual. Mills is definitely interested in a new right-back, while a couple of midfielders and both another wide man and striker should finally complete his requirements.
