York City manager Gary Mills was full of praise for goalkeeper Michael Ingham following the narrow weekend victory at Hayes & Yeading United. The former Northern Ireland international made a number of crucial saves as the visitors finally came out on top 2-1 in a tough encounter at Church Road.“Michael Ingham was superb. It was probably the busiest he’s been in any game since I came to the club but he’s a good keeper," Mills told The Press.“If you are going to win anything in football, it all starts from finding a good goalkeeper so I was pleased to see Michael Ingham when I came to the club in October.”Substitute Michael Rankine netted a late winner for the visitors after originally being left out of the starting line-up.“Ranks has not been playing well the last few games and he knows that himself," continued Mills. "The problem is when he isn’t playing as well as he can, he moans and the more frustrated he gets the worse he becomes.“I felt he might benefit from sitting next to me on Saturday to watch the game and take stock, and I can do that when I have a player like Leon Constantine to call on if I drop him. Ranks understands and I’m sure he would have settled for coming off the bench to score the winner before the game.” Meanwhile, York's televised home game with Luton Town next week has been rescheduled to Tuesday 19th April (kick-off 7.45pm) due to the Hatters' involvement in the FA Trophy. The Minstermen have instead brought forward their home clash with Eastbourne Borough to Saturday 12th March (kick-off 3pm).
