York City manager Gary Mills was full of praise following another man-of-the-match display from midfielder Jonathan Smith against Gateshead. The 24-year-old netted for the second successive game and also won a penalty after York finally overcame a resolute and in-form Gateshead side, who entered the game on the back of seven consecutive victories.Veteran striker Leon Constantine was successful from the spot in a hard-fought 2-1 victory as the Minstermen moved closer to the play-offs."Jonathan Smith got me another goal and won us a penalty because he never gives up on anything. I thought he was outstanding," Mills told The Press."We won a game against a very good side who pass the ball well and are strong," he continued. "We started excellently and then lost our way a bit but, overall, we have put our bodies on the line again and got a massive three points, so I`m absolutely delighted."The Minstermen are next in action against Barrow at the weekend, when they could be without midfielder Scott Kerr after he suffered a groin strain last night.
