Mansfield Town v York City

York City should include striker Jamie Reed for their Boxing Day visit to tenth-placed Mansfield Town.

The 24-year-old has returned to training after recovering from a knee injury, but fellow marksman and top scorer Jason Walker is still awaiting the results of a groin scan. The Minstermen also welcome back former Watford front-runner Liam Henderson from a month's loan at Forest Green Rovers. Henderson scored once in five games at the New Lawn.“Jamie Reed is back in training so, hopefully, there will be no reaction and we will have a player back, which is good," York manager Gary Mills told The Press. "Liam Henderson picked up a bit of a dead leg in his last game for Forest Green but he’s back training with us now and he’s another one in the squad.“We sent him there to get fit and sharp and to find himself, if that’s the right term. They wanted to take him on longer so they’re disappointed but that shows he has done well.“He’s coming back at a time when Jason Walker is injured and Jamie Reed has been out for a couple of weeks so it’s decision time for me as to whether I play him." Mansfield are without centre-back Richie Sutton as he serves a one-match ban for being dismissed during their 3-1 defeat at Southport. He will probably be replaced by John Thompson, while Joe Kendrick has recovered from a recent back injury.

The two sides meet again at Bootham Crescent on New Year's Day.
