Lincoln City v York City

York City take their faltering promotion challenge to struggling Lincoln City this weekend.

The Minstermen are without long-serving centre-back David McGurk, who suffered a calf injury in the 1-1 draw at Mansfield Town on New Year's Day.

However, skipper Chris Smith returns from a one-match suspension after recently collecting his fifth caution of the season, while former Lincoln midfielder Scott Kerr makes a first return to Sincil Bank.

He could be joined in midfield by ex-Morecambe schemer Scott Brown after signing from Fleetwood Town yesterday.

Manager Gary Mills was also hoping to bring in Bristol Rovers winger Ben Swallow, whilst also considering a Fleetwood offer for midfielder Andre Boucaud.

"We've picked up a few points, we're still in the top five and we go away to Lincoln," Mills told BBC Radio York.

"You hope Lincoln is going to be the game to kick-start us again on a winning run.

"I think the most important thing now is that we retain our status in the top five. We don't really mentally want to drop out of that."

Lincoln were expected to include former York striker Richard Pacquette after his arrival this week from Maidenhead United.

Meanwhile, Colwyn Bay winger Danny Lloyd-McGoldrick, AFC Telford United centre-back Robbie Williams and Nottingham Forest defender Carlton Watson have also come into the club.

Leading scorer Sam Smith returns after a recent spell on the sidelines but Andy Hutchinson is injured.
