The signs have been taken down this week as York City's home stadium has reverted back to its former name of Bootham Crescent. That follows the end of a four-year sponsorship deal with confectionary giants Nestlé that brought the club £200,000 in revenue.Signs displaying their name were being removed from the main entrance, in addition to the stands inside the ground, while those showing their branding will similarly be taken from the club's family room. The Minstermen also intend to canvass their supporters about a new identity for club mascot Yorkie at the end of the season. “We are hoping to secure a new sponsorship deal for the ground’s naming rights in about June," communications director Sophie Hicks confirmed to The Press.“I think our supporters appreciate it is vitally important to get this additional income to support our on-pitch ambitions.”
