York City manager Martin Foyle has added Altrincham's 27-year-old centre-back Greg Young to his defensive ranks. His signing follows the arrival earlier today of versatile Kidderminster Harriers and former Burnley defender Duane Courtney. Doncaster-born Young began his career at Sheffield Wednesday before then moving onto Grimsby Town for a couple of years.A loan spell to Northwich Victoria followed until he completed a permanent transfer to Halifax Town in February 2005.Whilst at The Shay he was allowed out for a second loan period at Northwich and also a similar deal at Alfreton Town. However, continuing finanacial problems at Halifax resulted in his departure and in turn a very successful time with Altrincham, where he has collected both supporters and players' player of the year awards in over two years at Moss Lane. The arrival of Young would appear to further confirm the likely exit from Bootham Crescent of Luke Graham, who is now expected to follow his own wishes and find a club closer to his Northamptonshire home.Meanwhile, ex-Wales under-21 international midfielder Levi Mackin will complete a busy day for Foyle by signing a new one-year deal.
