York City's players have earned praise from their management team for the way they have progressed in pre-season. They have three more warm-up games before their opening Blue Square Bet Premier game at Ebbsfleet on 13 August.Assistant manager Darron Gee said the players had been working hard so far in their preparations. He told BBC Radio York: "The lads have been superb. We've got a real good bunch of players here and we're really happy with that."Gee continued: "It's no good peaking now and then when the season starts we're not there. We know there's still things to do."We keep changing the side around. Now we go to next Saturday's game (at home to Hartlepool) and we'll be looking to settle the side down and get playing in a pattern and where we want to play."It's hard for the lads. They've worked very hard while we've been away on the tour (to Rutland)."Once the side starts to settle down and we get playing in the rhythm we want then we'll move on."Source: BBC Sport
