Foyle confirms no Brodie bids

There have been no bids so far for leading goalscorer Richard Brodie according to York City manager Martin Foyle. The Gateshead-born striker struck 37 goals last season as the Minstermen only just missed out on the return to the Football League after eventually going down in their play-off final to Oxford United at Wembley. Brodie is contracted at the club until the end of next term and there was expected to be plenty of interest from other clubs. However, Foyle has confirmed that he is yet to receive any offers and was instead hoping to extend  the 22-year-old's current deal."We`ve had nothing and, if we do, Richard would be the first to know," he told The Press. "For me, I don`t want to waste my summer worrying about things that won`t happen."Speculation comes from a lot of areas but there`s nothing to hide. Richard`s a fantastic boy, we get on great and I hope he`s still with us come the start of the season. We are also still looking to extend his contract."Meanwhile, Foyle hasn't ruled out a move for Salisbury City prolific marksman Matt Tubbs (inset) if the Wiltshire club are unsuccessful with their appeal over their demotion from the Blue Square Premier. But he also admitted that the 25-year-old front-runner's expected wage demands probably makes any deal rather unlikely.England 'C' international Tubbs netted 32 goals last term and has totalled approaching 150 in seven yars with his hometown club."You look at everything and everybody as a manager but I don`t know if Salisbury have gone yet so we`ll have to see what happens," Foyle added. "Things can change on a daily basis."He [Tubbs] is a player you would like but you have to be realistic. He`s on fantastic money down there - more than my top earner here."
