Foyle backs Ingham

York City manager Martin Foyle has backed goalkeeper and new 'Clubman of the Year' Michael Ingham after his late error cost his side victory at the weekend. The former Northern Ireland international handed ten-man Grays Athletic a last-minute equaliser after his attempted punch failed to sufficiently clear the danger and fell for Duran Reynolds to level. "Inghy could have done better but it`s probably his first mistake for a while and he`s been fantastic for me so I can have no complaints about him," Foyle told The Press. "I would rather he made half an error now than in the play-offs."We also didn`t react to the second ball and, even though it was a good finish by their lad on the volley, we never covered as you should behind your `keeper when he comes for a cross."Earlier, York's leading scorer Richard Brodie had a penalty saved by replacement keeper Preston Edwards after Glyn Garner was sent-off for bringing down the England 'C' striker. Brodie did gain later revenge, however, when adding his 33rd goal of a prolific campaign.
