Foyle admits poor display

York City manager Martin Foyle admitted to a poor display from his side as they suffered a first home defeat of the season against lowly Eastbourne Borough at Bootham Crescent. The Minstermen went down to a solitary strike from Liam Enver-Marum and didn't really threaten until substitute Richard Pacquette struck the crossbar late on."No real excuses," Foyle told BBC Radio York. "Give credit to Eastbourne. They've come and stifled the play. I knew what their intentions were and sometimes these games are very difficult, especially when they score the first goal. "We threw caution to the wind towards the end there and probably could have snatched one. But I've got no excuses, they battled better than us today."Without their suspended top scorer Richard Brodie, York have now failed to find the target in their last three games and have only managed five goals in their last nine games."To be honest first-half we put some fantastic ball across the front of the box but we weren't spinning and trying to get into the box where it counts," Foyle added."We weren't right and didn't look comfortable on the ball. People say 'play with width,' but as you can see the areas that are wide on this pitch are absolutely horrendous."But there were quite a few little things wrong today. In training yesterday I just had a sniff that things weren't right."
