Former York City winger Craig Nelthorpe has signed for Gateshead after being released at the end of last season. Nelthorpe struggled to make any real impresson for the Minstermen and managed only seven substitute appearances following his arrival from Oxford United at the start of the campaign. Manager Martin Foyle later sent him out on loan to Barrow and he finished the season with a similar deal at play-off rivals Luton Town.  "Unfortunately it didn't work out for me at York but it is a chance for a fresh start at Gateshead," Nelthorpe told Gateshead's official website.  "The manager has faith in me and playing week in week out will bring the best out of me."  The 22-year-old actually started his career at his hometown club Doncaster Rovers, during which time he twice went on loan to Gateshead.  "My first spell at Gateshead went really well and I had a great rapport with the fans," he continued.  "The second was disappointing but that was down to a lack of confidence.  "I didn't do myself justice but I have had good loan spells at Oxford, Barrow and Luton and I'm looking forward to making my mark at Gateshead."
