An optimistic Gary Mills has virtually a full squad to choose from for York City's opening day visit to Ebbsfleet United. Only midfielder David McDermott is ruled out with an ankle injury suffered during pre-season. Mills will certainly give debuts to a number of his new signings as he aims for a winning start to the campaign against newly-promoted opponents. The likes of Lanre Oyebanjo, Patrick McLaughlin, Ashley Chambers, Matty Blair and Jason Walker are all likely starters for the visitors, who can also call upon fellow newcomers Michael Potts, Adriano Moké and Liam Henderson."We've worked hard together and we're ready for the season," Mills told BBC Radio York. "It's been a long six weeks but one that's gone well and we're ready for Saturday."We should be feeling positive and optimistic going into the season and we should be confident we can achieve something." Ebbsfleet have had a decent enough build-up to their season winning six of their seven friendlies under experienced manager Liam Daish.Former Southend United left-back John Herd and ex-Charlton Athletic midfielder Alex Stavrinou could each earn debuts after joining the club this week, while new striker Liam Enver-Marum has already netted five times during pre-season.York City (from): Ingham, Oyebanjo, McGurk, Smith, Meredith, Kerr, Boucaud, McLaughlin, Blair, Walker, Chambers, Parslow, Fyfield, Potts, Moké, Henderson, Reed, Musselwhite
