Don't let this fizzle away - Foyle

York City manager Martin Foyle admitted his side are at the crossroads following their fourth defeat in their last five games at struggling Forest Green Rovers. Midfielder Levi Mackin scored his first goal for the club at The New Lawn, but it wasn't sufficient to earn any reward after the visitors again proved too generous at the opposite end of the pitch and eventually went down 2-1. "A much better performance," Foyle told BBC Radio York. "I thought we started the game very well and took the game to them. We were on the front foot and then they scored a fluke goal out of nowhere and it does dent you."At the moment we're at a little bit of a crossroads. One or two are just going into their shells a little bit and it certainly hampered us."We're well and truly in control of the game and again we've fallen asleep from a set-piece. I can't do anything about that. The lads know they make mistakes. I'm not here to criticise them or anything, but that's two in the last two games and it's cost us," he continued."There's a few feeling sorry for themselves at the moment. But the first goal was poor. Ben Purkiss and Danny Parslow were doubling up together - there's two soft tackles and they go through and it ends up in the back of the net. "Their keeper has brought off some magnificent saves and then we've missed some glaring chances in the second-half. But that's what's happening to us at the moment. I've told players it's easy to play when you are winning games of football. I want to see my leaders when they are losing a game of football. You need to fight your way back into games, but I just felt they were a little bit stronger than us in certain areas."The Minstermen next face Salisbury City at Bootham Crescent on Tuesday evening, in what Foyle describes as a 'must win' game as he attempts to revive their faltering promotion challenge. But they could be without centre-back David McGurk and leading scorer Richard Brodie after both took knocks during the closing stages."There's about four injured," confirmed Foyle. "It doesns't matter who, but two look quite bad. And Alex [Lawless] is going to be a long way off, so it's all hands to the pump."I've told the players they've done so well for the majority of the season don't just let this fizzle away. At the moment I just get that feeling that it is fizzling away. But it's our job to keep them right and buoyant and confident."
