Barrow v York City

02 March 2010 12:48
York City will try and complete their FA Trophy quarter-final tie against Barrow at Holker Street at the third time of asking after their previous two attempts were thwarted by bad weather. Former Bluebirds loannee Richard Brodie won't be involved as he completes a three-match ban following his recent sending-off at Ebbsfleet United.Since then the Minstermen have failed to score in not only that game, but in a subsequent home draw with promotion rivals Luton Town and then in a shock first home defeat of the season to Eastbourne Borough at the weekend. On loan Cambridge United winger Courtney Pitt is similarly out of the reckoning for the Cumbrian clash as he is cup-tied, while midfielder Alex Lawless is ruled out with a hamstring problem. Manager Martin Foyle has also hinted making changes in a bid to turn around his side's recent stuttering fortunes.“We’ve worked at a few things in training, chopping and changing personnel and looking at the whole pattern of the side," he told The Press.“We’re opening up the pack again to everybody really."He continued: “Goals should come from everywhere – from your wide players, midfielders and defenders at set-pieces.“The deliveries have been going into the box and we’re getting on the end of some but people aren’t sticking the ball in the net.” Barrow ended a sequence of four straight defeats that had recently plunged them into the relegation zone with an impressive 4-1 triumph at Ebbsfleet at the weekend.Former Everton striker Nick Chadwick struck a hat-trick in that game but won't be involved tonight as he is ineligible having already featured for Chester City in the competition.Ex-Doncaster Rovers striker Gregg Blundell is expected to replace him after recovering from head and hand injuries and should partner impressive 14-goal top scorer Jason Walker. The Bluebirds have also added one-time Rochdale, Cambridge United, Wrexham and Accrington Stanley striker Lee McEvilly to their ranks this week. But he too is unavailable as he was signed after the draw was made.Meanwhile, one player leaving the club is centre-back Adam Dugdale, who has moved on to Blue Square North club AFC Telford United.
