Yeovil Town keeper Chris Weale is to have a trial with
West ham, as the Hammers seek a replacement for the departed David James.
James has moved on to Manchester City and, despite Alan Pardew's side signing Arsenal keeper Rami Shaaban on loan, Weale will have an opportunity to impress.
Glovers boss Gary Johnson said: "With West ham in the hunt for a new goalkeeper this is a great opportunity for Chris.
"I would not dream of standing in his way. We'll see what comes of it."
The 21-year-old has been a regular in the Glovers first team in the last two seasons, as the club have gained promotion to the Football League and gone on to establish themselves as promotion candidates this term.
