Slade swoops for loan duo

Yeovil Town manager Russell Slade signed two new players on loan before the deadline closed at 5pm on Thursday.

The Glovers boss snapped up Everton striker Aidan Downes and Portsmouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic on loan until the end of the season.

Downes is 19 and is still to make his first-team debut for Everton, while Begovic is a Bosnian-born 20-year-old who had loan spells with Macclesfield Town and Bournemouth last season.

Slade moved quickly to sign a new shot-stopper after Scott Flinders was recalled by Crystal Palace from his loan spell at Huish Park.
