    Slade backs playing style

    09 Oct 2006 - 15:05:34

Yeovil Town boss Russell Slade is confident the club's style of play is conducive for a successful season, despite the 1-0 defeat to Cheltenham on Friday evening.

The Glovers looked odds-on to make it five wins on the bounce when the struggling Robins turned up at Huish Park, but John Ward's men stole the maximum points in the dying moments.

As a result Yeovil dropped from second to fifth place in League One, but Slade is remaining confident.

He said: "Sometimes you have to take the rough with the smooth in this game and put a brave face on it.

"I don't think we did enough (against Cheltenham) but we have to move on. We won't change the way we play."

Striker Wayne Gray was more critical and wants to see the players start improving if they are to maintain their position in the promotion battle this season.

"Teams at the top get a lot of respect and some teams will set out their stall to get a point off us now," he told BBC Radio Bristol.

"Teams will try harder against us so we'll have to try harder ourselves."
