Rooney stays at Yeovil
17 Apr 2007 - 07:57:50
Yeovil Town have extended the loan stay of Stoke City striker Adam Rooney until the end of the season.
Rooney has made just two substitute appearances since joining the Glovers last month, but will now remain at Huish Park until the end of May.
The teenage forward will now be available for the remaining three league games of the campaign and the subsequent play-off programme.
Meanwhile, the Glovers have appealed against the red card shown to Scott Guyett in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Bristol City
Guyett conceded a penalty and was sent off at Ashton Gate, but manager Russell Slade has vowed to contest the decision.
He told the club's official website: "I am of the opinion that it was not a penalty.
"Obviously I shall fight that case and I am fairly confident that we can get that rescinded.
"It was a good challenge by Scotty (Guyett) and he should not have been penalised for that."
