Milton's Glovers exit

Yeovil Town general manager John Milton has left the club because of health concerns. He joined the Glovers in June, but chairman John Fry confirmed Milton had now left Huish Park. He told the club's official website: "We are grateful to John Milton for the help given to Russell Slade and Yeovil Town during the close season. "Sadly due to health problems he has found it increasing difficult to carry out his duties at Huish Park while continuing with his own business interests." Meanwhile, Town boss Russell Slade was delighted to see his side end Port Vale's excellent start to the new season. Paul Terry's early goal proved to be enough for Yeovil to beat Martin Foyle's side 1-0 and Slade said: "I like my sides to have the bounceability factor, and when you lose a football match you can get back to winning ways straight away, and that's exactly what we've done. "It shows a bit of character and I'm very pleased for my players. I was pleased with the battling qualities and the defence did well."
