Yeovil Town striker Phil Jevons has been named as League One's player of the month for October, after scoring three goals in five games.

The 26-year-old, who scored in Saturday's FA Cup draw against Macclesfield Town, featured in the Glovers' victories over Scunthorpe United, Nottingham Forest and Swansea City.

Yeovil lost just one league game during October as they moved up to 13th in the table, with Jevons taking his tally to six goals this season.

The former Everton and Grimsby Town frontman beat Brentford goalkeeper Stuart Nelson, Chesterfield winger Paul Hall and Port Vale midfielder Chris Birchall to the award.
