Glovers turn to Skiverton

Yeovil Town have appointed Terry Skiverton as their new player-manager, following the recent departure of Russell Slade.

Thirty-three-year-old Glovers stalwart Skiverton has been with the Huish Park club for a decade and has been handed the chance to make his first step on the management ladder.

He will be assisted by Nathan Jones, with former caretaker boss Steve Thompson having left the club.

A statement on the club's official website read: "The board of Yeovil Town football club are delighted to announce the appointment of Terry Skiverton as first-team manager with immediate effect.

"Steve Thompson has been released from his contract as assistant manager and his position will be taken by Nathan Jones.

"Terry and Nathan will take over with immediate effect on Thursday morning."

Chairman John Fry added: "I feel the knowledge, professionalism and enthusiasm of the two appointees will be of immense benefit to the club as it moves into a new phase of development."
