    Glovers turn to Owusu

    07 Jul 2007 - 11:02:50

Yeovil Town have signed experienced striker Lloyd Owusu on a one-year contract.

The 30-year-old was a free agent after leaving Brentford, having enjoyed two spells with the Bees during his career, as well as having stints with Reading and Sheffield Wednesday.

Crystal Palace youngster Jerahl Hughes has also tied up his switch to Huish Park, penning a 12-month deal.

Glover boss Russell Slade moved quickly to bolster his squad after seeing wingers Arron Davies and Chris Cohen leave to join League One rivals Nottingham Forest.

The Town pair move to the City Ground for an undisclosed fee, with Cohen signing a four-year contract and Davies penning a three-year deal.

Slade told the club's official website: "It was a club decision to let them go. A lot of thought went into it, but it is a good opportunity for the boys.

"Forest are of course a big club and the lure of a big club like them was probably too much to turn down."
