Glovers swoop for Williams

Yeovil Town have completed the signing of Aston Villa striker Sam Williams on a two-year contract.

The 22-year-old moves to Huish Park on a free transfer, having impressed while on trail with the Glovers during pre-season.

Williams had not featured in the first team at Villa Park, but had impressed during several loan spells away from the Premier League club, notably with Wrexham and Brentford.

Glovers boss Terry Skiverton had earlier told the Western Morning News: "Sam's just been released by Aston Villa and you can see that he's been taught the right way.

"We've been looking for a striker who can lead the line. Sam's still only young, but he's got good potential that me and Nathan Jones could work with and bring out the best in him."
