Glovers ponder loan deals

Yeovil Town boss Russell Slade has revealed he is planning to raid the loan market to bolster his injury-ravaged squad.

The Glovers' promotion hopes have been hit by a series of injuries to key players, including striker Marcus Stewart (calf) and defender Andy Lindegaard (thigh).

On-loan striker Leon Best will also return to parent club Southampton next week, leaving Slade looking at the loan market to draft in some fresh faces.

"I'll have to get someone in because we've got seven out ahead of Saturday with Mark Lynch, Anthony Barry and Paul Terry already out and Lee Morris hasn't played for a few weeks," he said.

"We are thin on the ground at the back, especially right-back, and have only got one recognised central midfielder, Chris Cohen, and next week when Leon Best's loan is up won't have that many strikers to choose from.

"We'll have to do something pretty sharpish and the loan market is the obvious port of call."
