Yeovil Town manager Russell Slade has moved quickly to strengthen his defence, following the news that Terry Skiverton will be sidelined for up to four weeks, by signing Southampton's Martin Cranie on loan.
The 20-year-old Yeovil-born defender will remain at Huish Park until January 1.
Cranie has played 23 games for the Saints but has made only one substitute appearance - against Coventry City - so far this term.
He also played three times for Bournemouth during a loan spell with the Canaries in the 2004-05 season.
