Yeovil Town manager Russell Slade has bolstered his strikeforce by signing Bristol City's experienced forward Marcus Stewart on a three-month loan deal.

The 33-year-old has endured a difficult time at Ashton Gate since moving to the Robins from Sunderland last summer, scoring only five goals in 29 appearances for the club.

City chairman Steve Lansdown told the club's official website: "The move's in everyone's interests. It's not a transfer and nothing has been discussed beyond the three-month period.

"It'll enable Marcus to play regular first-team football at a time when he's not first choice here.

"That means he'll have the chance to show what he can do to Yeovil, ourselves and any other club who might be interested.

"Wherever his future lies, it has to be good that he can play League football each week - apart from when we play Yeovil."
