Madden ready to answer Glovers call

Yeovil boss Gary Johnson could be set to hand striker Paddy Madden a recall when Wigan come to Somerset on Sunday.

Last season's top scorer has only made five starts this season and failed to impress but after a chat in Leeds last weekend Johnson believes the Irishman can recapture the form that fired the Glovers into the second tier.

And Madden's chances of regaining a regular spot in the side have been boosted by a season-ending injury to Andy Williams. The on-loan Swindon striker suffered a cruciate knee injury earlier this week and will not play again this term.

Meanwhile a number of players are pushing for starts against the FA Cup holders including Luke Ayling, Liam Fontaine and Sam Foley.

Wigan boss Owen Coyle is likely to make changes for the clash.

The Latics were in Europa League action in Russia on Thursday night and went down to a 1-0 defeat to Rubin Kazan.

Jean Beausejour missed out with a foot injury and he will be assessed, but Marc Albrighton should return after he was ineligible in midweek and Ben Watson (illness) will be checked over.

Goalkeeper Scott Carson remains sidelined with an ankle injury but Ivan Ramis could be involved after he featured for the Development squad this week.
