Yeovil look to end wait for victory against high-flying Oxford

Yeovil boss Darren Way will look to end a 15-game wait for a Sky Bet League Two victory when Oxford head for Huish Park on Monday.

The Glovers last collected all three points when they won 1-0 at Crawley on September 19, and their return of just six points since, culminating in a 1-0 Boxing Day defeat at leaders Plymouth, has left them in 23rd place in the table, two points adrift of safety.

Way told YTTV: "The squad is giving everything - I keep saying that - and it's so important that every single member that's involved at this football club, we all stick together and we complete that one objective of staying in the Football League.

"When that happens, it will be a proud moment and a big achievement because that's what we need to focus on."

Yeovil may have their work cut out on Monday with Oxford sitting in second place, just two points behind Plymouth, after Saturday's 3-0 home win over Exeter.

Striker Chris Maguire limped off and is a doubt with Patrick Hoban and Danny Hylton standing by, while keeper Benji Buchel could return after flying back to Liechtenstein over Christmas when his father was taken ill.

However, Buchel may do well to displace Sam Slocombe who kept a clean sheet as he deputised ably at the weekend.

The U's have lost just once in 13 attempts in all competitions and only three times in the league all season.
