Yeovil fight back for victory

Yeovil came from two goals down to bag their first points of the season with a 3-2 win over Luton at Huish Park.

A Ryan Bird double from the bench added to Stephen Arthurworrey's header after Craig Mackail-Smith and Paul Benson had put the visitors ahead.

Mackail-Smith showed his class early on when he superbly volleyed over the helpless Artur Krysiak from 25 yards with just three minutes on the clock.

The Glovers' back-line struggled to deal with a corner in the 17th minute, and when Luke Wilkinson lofted the ball back in, Benson easily lost his marker to nod in a second.

Disjointed Yeovil drew hope in the 37th minute when Fulham loanee Arthurworrey had wandered forward to get on the end of a Connor Roberts cross to head home.

The goalscoring defender then turned provider in the 63rd minute, setting up substitute Bird to turn in his first goal for the club just three minutes after his introduction.

The former Portsmouth man put the Glovers on course for their first win of the season with a superb strike from distance on 73 minutes to drag the Hatters into the bottom two.
