Substitutes strike as Yeovil climb out of bottom two

Substitutes Ryan Bird and Tahvon Campbell found the net to give Yeovil a 2-1 win at home to Crawley and haul the Glovers out of the Sky Bet League Two relegation zone.

Bird opened the scoring on 59 minutes when he pounced on a loose ball and fired past Callum Preston, before Campbell made the points safe on 77 minutes with a beautifully curled effort from 25 yards out.

Lee Barnard took advantage of poor Yeovil defending to grab a consolation late on, but Crawley could do nothing to prevent a fifth straight away loss.

Yeovil had always looked the team more likely to score at Huish Park, but the nerves of the home support were settled when Bird opened the scoring.

Francois Zoko and Shaun Jeffers spurned golden opportunities to put the Glovers in front, while Crawley went close at the other end as Matt Harrold saw his header saved by Artur Krysiak.

But when Bird and Campbell found the net, Yeovil never looked like being caught, even after Barnard's late finish ensured the points were not safe until the final whistle.
