Darren Way gets off to a winning start as Yeovil beat Stevenage in FA Cup

Darren Way claimed victory in his first game in temporary charge of Yeovil as Ben Tozer's late strike secured a 1-0 win over Stevenage at Huish Park in the second round of the FA Cup.

The away side more than matched their opponents for the majority of the game but Tozer's low drive from 20 yards came too late for Boro to find a reply.

The match started at a break-neck speed with chances coming at both ends.

In the third minute, a driving run and cutback from Ben Kennedy down the right ended with a Michael Tonge shot being tipped onto the crossbar by the Yeovil goalkeeper.

Glovers midfielder Harry Cornick was the home side's brightest attacking outlet and brought the home crowd to its feet with a number of surging runs.

In the 86th minute, one of Cornick's charges resulted in a corner which eventually fell to Shaun Jeffers and he laid the ball off to right-back Tozer who drove in.

Stevenage rallied late on and only a flying save from Chris Day denied Tom Pett a last-gasp equaliser.
