Yeovil 1-0 Carlisle: Match Report

29 March 2011 22:19
Glovers win again Yeovil boosted their chances of surviving relegation with a 1-0 win at home to Carlisle. The Glovers, seeking their third successive win in their battle against the drop, created some clear chances but had to wait until the 58th minute for a goal. In the first half Yeovil's Andy Welsh had a shot cleared off the line by Lubomir Michalik, and at the other end James Berrett had a goal-bound shot deflected for a corner. In a bright start to the second half, Yeovil's Jon Obika flashed a header just wide in the 55th minute, but three minutes later Obika, the youngster on loan from Tottenham, got a vital goal when he was put clear by Dean Bowditch. Obika had another effort brilliantly saved by Adam Collin, but Carlisle finished strongly and Ben Marshall should have made more of a close-range effort which he hit over the bar.
