Glovers out of the drop zone after hard-fought point against Plymouth

Yeovil moved out of the Sky Bet League Two relegation zone with an entertaining 0-0 draw at home to promotion-chasing Plymouth.

Both sides created chances at a cold Huish Park, but neither were able to produce a winner that would have proved equally crucial to either.

Yeovil began the game the brighter of the two teams as they dominated possession and surged forward.

Brandon Goodship missed a golden opportunity to put the hosts ahead in the third minute when he was picked out by a Connor Roberts pass, but the ball bobbled as he shot and he fired wide.

Graham Carey then went close for the visitors when he unleashed a stinging half-volley just wide of the post after good build-up play, before the Irishman created the first meaningful chance of the second half when he headed over from Kelvin Mellor's chance.

Goodship missed his second chance of the evening when he shot straight at goalkeeper Luke McCormick when put clean through by Oscar Threlkeld's botched defensive header.

Both teams continued to surge forward but neither were able to fashion a winner.
