Slade bemoans Glovers defending

14 January 2009 16:55
Slade had failed in his bid to complete the signing of former Port Vale striker Luke Rodgers, who had scored in their two previous matches, and his attack seldom threatened real danger.[LNB]His troubles increased in the 34th minute when his skipper Skiverton was straight red-carded, but Slade insisted the result was down to poor defending from his side.[LNB]"I didn't see the offence clearly but I gather the referee says he swung an elbow at the defender. I shall have to have a look at the video but obviously it had a bearing on the outcome," said Slade.[LNB]"I was disappointed with their second goal - it was a bad one to give away. There was always a chance when it was 1-0 that we could nick something and so it proved when we scored right at the end.[LNB]"Had we got a draw it would have been a terrific point."[LNB][LNB]
