Skiverton saddened by derby defeat

Yeovil manager Terry Skiverton was visibly demoralised after his side lost a pulsating local derby against Exeter 3-1, ending their Johnstone's Paint Trophy tilt at the first hurdle. Jamie Cureton's brace and a Ryan Harley free-kick helped the Grecians overcome 10-man Yeovil, who had Sam Williams red carded for a headbutt on Troy Archibald-Henville. Andrew Welsh had levelled the tie in the 76th minute, but Skiverton was left to reflect on a poor performance from his side. "I am very disappointed it was exactly the same start as we had last year," he said. "We are out of two competitions in quick succession. "There are not many positives I can come up with but we must take it on the chin as a team. Bad decisions and sloppy defending costs us. "I believe we have got a better squad of players than last year so we have got to lick our wounds and move on."
