Skiverton pleased with win

Yeovil boss Terry Skiverton felt his side had some opening-day rustiness but was generally pleased with the way his side performed during their 2-1 win. First-half goals from Dean Bowditch and Luke Freeman saw the Glovers win at Huish Park and condemn former boss Russell Slade to defeat. Skiverton said: "We had to chase about a lot and they had three in midfield who got a lot of possession and a lot of interplay. They caused us problems at times but we held on and took our chances well. "The first 15 minutes is a recurring theme with me. We played some great stuff; created one-on-ones and had a lot of chances but as soon as we got the early goal we sat back like we did in the friendly with Bristol City and didn't pass the ball. "It was the first game and there was a bit of rustiness. People didn't want to take risks. In the second half they threw caution to the wind. My back four was magnificent with Adam Virgo outstanding. He has come down the leagues but has the bit between his teeth."
