Skiverton is looking up

Yeovil manager Terry Skiverton believes his side have "taken a small step in the right direction" after holding play-off chasing Colchester to a goalless draw. The struggling Glovers produced a battling performance at the Weston Homes Community Stadium and were only denied three points in stoppage time by Colchester goalkeeper Ben Williams, who kept out Glovers substitute Adam Phillip's header. Skiverton said: "We spoke before the game about how we want to move forward and be a lot more solid and cut out the mistakes. "We did that - it was a really small step, but we're heading in the right direction. To come off the back of such a disappointing performance at Bournemouth, the fitness work we've done with them and mental work have culminated in us grinding out a really solid performance. "I was really pleased with the response, but I've said it before, only for it to be shoved right back down my throat again. "They've had a little bit of a pat on the back, but now they have some games they really need to focus on and make sure we put in that same commitment, passion and body language to show we're capable of getting out of it."
