Skiverton hails Glovers young guns

In a match between two teams struggling for points, the Glovers certainly had the better of the opening 45 minutes and Ryan Mason handed the hosts a 2-0 lead at the break. The Cumbrians were a different side after the restart following a poor first-half performance and Ian Harte gave them a lifeline from the penalty spot, but substitute Keiran Murtagh settled nerves in the 88th minute with his first touch. Skiverton said: "It was a very pleasing performance and it gave us a lift up the table. Shaun MacDonald deservedly got the man of the match award - he has a very old head on young shoulders. He never gets flustered. "But I was pleased with all my youngsters, some of whom were just back from international duty. They will make mistakes but I don't mind that. I want them to go out and enjoy their football and give the crowds something to cheer. "If we keep putting the crosses in and creating the chances we all might be able to have some fun this season."
