Saints were too strong - Skiverton

Yeovil manager Terry Skiverton admitted his side struggled to cope with Southampton following their 3-0 defeat. Lee Barnard's double and a long-range Alex Chamberlain strike leaves the Glovers just two points above the relegation zone. Skiverton said: "We needed some luck and some big performances if we were going to get anything but didn't quite get those. "Southampton were clinical, they took chances and we were well beaten. For them, they were probably a bit under-par, but they still showed us how to make chances count. "I thought we matched them for long periods, which was encouraging, but this game was never going to be the decider in our season, they are a top, top team. We've played a lot of the top sides in recent weeks and this was one week too far for us. "We'll lick our wounds and bounce back though. We were missing some big players and you can't come here under-strength and expect to compete."
